There are things that are essential in our lives and having a happy, healthy and confident self is one of it.
Yes, it’s a busy road out there – but taking time to take good care and splurge on yourself should not take a backseat.
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ~ Howard Washington Thurman
Take yourself out on a date.
Go to your favorite restaurant, watch a movie, visit the museum, attend a fashion show. It’s refreshing to experience these things on your own. It’s a little awkward, but it’s worth it.

Tell the truth.
When someone asks you about anything, don’t communicate emotionally. Know want you want, ask for it directly and clear out the expectations.
“If only you could sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.” ~ Fred Rogers
Stop criticizing yourself.
For an entire day, try not to see your flaws and embrace what you are as a person. What you see in the mirror is not just your physical angle, but your personality and values. If you try this, you will be amazed on how fulfilling your day can be.
“You have been criticizing yourself for years, and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.” ~Louise L. Hay
“ME” time.
Doesn’t need to be fancy at all, but if you have some cash to stash, why not? It should be something that makes you happy – is it that French cuisine you’ve always wanted to taste? or a relaxing massage? a solo road trip? a new hairstyle? Don’t think twice. Plan it out and do it!

“To establish true self-esteem we must concentrate on our successes and forget about the failures and the negatives in our lives.”~Denis Waitley
Visualize.
This is a powerful technique to get the things that you want in your life. Prepare a notebook, write down all the things that you desire in life – in all aspects. And give yourself an affirmation that you deserve it and that you will have it soon.
Some people make it a step further with a “Vision Board” – where they gather pictures of the things that they want in life – say an image of a happy family, a brand new car, a dream house, a business card for your future company or a paycheck with written amount of your target income for the year.
Hang it on a place where you can see it often – and you will be surprised when your dreams come true. It is something that will remind you of what matters to you most – and be sure to work hard to get your goals.

“There are days I drop words of comfort on myself like falling leaves and remember that it is enough to be taken care of by myself.” ~ Brian Andreas

Great post! I like the idea of visualize. I think I need to make my own Vision Board and make it work. 🙂 I believe that the key to happiness is Wealth, Time, and Health 🙂
